The Hotel Edition, located in the Toranomon district of Tokyo, Japan, is among the exhausting bustle of Tokyo. Teamed up with Japanese architect Kengo Kuma to create a luxury hotel filled with plants that fill the hotel's interior. With 206 rooms, most use a neutral color palette and natural materials such as wood and marble, which are the hallmark of the hotel edition. The hotel's luxurious atmosphere can be felt through the large and charming main door.

Entering the lobby area, this building offers various facilities such as restaurants, bars, an open-air atrium, and many places to relax. The atmosphere offered at this hotel is that visitors are invited to feel like they are in a forest. It can be felt with more than 500 plants, trees, and shrubs consisting of 25 different exotic species. This magical space takes visitors for a moment to forget about the hustle and bustle of Tokyo life into the urban forest oasis inside a building.

"Creating an intimate space like a "forest" is our goal of this project, which is realized by the abundant use of natural materials where guests can relax comfortably," said Kengo Kuma and Associates.

Natural materials are used almost throughout the room with different finishing materials, creating a simple and delicate space among the existing luxuries. A table forming a box centered on a building column, accompanied by a stool, is a concern for visitors.

Large columns that are the structure of the treated building with a repetitive wooden grid cover will beautify the interior. The area has a luxurious feel with a green, brown, and gold palette. This golden color is produced from the reflection of warm white lamps, candles placed on each bar table, and lanterns.

The public facilities at this hotel combine colors inspired by precious stones and very rare elements. This area is on the side of the lobby room and is named "Blue Room" because it uses sapphire blue on the sofa upholstery textiles. The presence of this sapphire blue color is a point of interest and seems harmonious. Adjacent to the lobby is a "Jade Room," which uses green on the sofa's upholstery.

The different colors used in each space indicate a difference in area and give a different impression. For city views, the Jade Room is also connected by an open area to a green terrace overlooking Tokyo Tower. In this room, visitors can sit back and relax while enjoying the dishes and views of Tokyo.

A space that brings out another color is the Gold Bar, located on the ground floor, combining black walls, floors, curtains, and furniture with a white wave-shaped ceiling. Several collections of artworks are laid out on grid-patterned storage and illuminated with gold lights, completing the bar's elegant and luxurious feel.

With shades of black gold that give a firm and luxurious impression, the fireplace area is made with patterned marble material, equipped with two sofas and a round table.

In the private area for visitors, as many as 206 rooms of various types are elegantly made in sharp contrast with public spaces by applying a neutral color palette. The natural texture of the wood is displayed, light gray, ivory, and silver colors that evoke luxury and relaxation, like the "zen" concept, so that visitors can relax to rest.

The characteristic of traditional houses in Japan is implemented by Kengo Kuma, one of which is the presence of wooden partitions that are applied to increase flexibility in interior design. This wooden partition makes the room more spacious because the living room can be connected to the bedroom.

Some room types have large openings that can expose the glittering city view at night and the city's icon, Tokyo Tower. This Hotel Edition offers luxury through interior design, charming city views, and a dense downtown urban forest. As well as accommodating a completely new experience for visitors while nurturing the natural elements of the luxuriously packed space.
