Each element in an indoor or outdoor space occupies its own role to support the functionality of the space. However, some essential elements don't seem to be the "main cast" in a space. For example, one part of the room that is considered not yet the "main figure" is partitioning. Even though the role of partitions for indoor and outdoor spaces can be crucial if the owner needs more privacy.

Partitions are used not only in the house's interior but are also widely applied to multipurpose rooms, museums, and exhibition halls. The aesthetics of indoor and outdoor spaces are also formed from the selection of partitions and spatial arrangements involving decoration. However, the material of the partition itself can also beautify the space through the characteristics of the material displayed as it is.

For outdoor space or installation construction, partitions have a significant position. So in designing an installation to enhance the event, people usually use temporary partitions to visually separate the space without having to make permanent changes such as building walls.

One of the proper materials for creating non-permanent partitions is fabric. Its lightweight, elastic, flexible, easy-to-install, and easy-to-find nature is one solution to limit space while helping to emphasize the show's character.

For example, the use of fabric partitions separating outdoor and indoor areas has been practiced by architectural studios Csutoras and Liando in designing Kineforum Misbar, a temporary installation promoting Indonesian films. In designing this temporary cinema, they used a semi-transparent agronet cloth as a partition as well as to strengthen the character of the building. As a result, Kineforum Misbar can look beautiful using a semi-transparent fabric that makes this installation glow like a lantern that lights up at night.

Csutoras and Liando explained that scaffolding and layers of agronet fabric made it easier for them to build Kineforum Misbar in about 10 days. In addition, these two materials can create an aesthetic contained in the beauty of semi-transparent fabrics. With the simplicity of a fabric, Csutoras and Liando can bring a spatial experience to visitors as they see and feel when they are in the cinema area. Another exciting experience is that visitors who are inside can look out. Vice versa, people who are outdoors, can see the activities inside the cinema room.

Discussing further, partitions made from fabric usually have several folds due to the natural nature of the material, which is indeed flexible. These folds create the beauty of the space of a partition made of fabric. Thus, fabric partitions not only limit the space but also beautify the space.
