ChampiCabanes that Invite Children into a Fairytale World

Starting from childhood memories of fairy tales telling secret huts in the forest, Claude Pasquer and Corinne Julhiet create a collaborative project dedicated to children. Then, they created the "ChampiCabanes," a mushroom-shaped pavilion offers pleasure, comfort, and a sense of security.

Unlike children's huts in general which are square and have windows, ChampiCabanes is designed with a 360-degree circular structure with no windows and has only one entrance.  The design is set like a village of imagination, where children can freely move around the space and create their own stories.

Conceptually, Claude Pasquer and Corinne Julhiet created the ChampiCabanes with a narrative of a small village environment filled with simple huts. They realized it through five pavilions that have various sizes, shapes, and functions

ChampiCabanes is the name of the main pavilion, the attraction of this village of imagination. The pavilion will greet children through four chairs and a small table to facilitate various activities equipped with audio and tablets that can help improve children's cognitive abilities.

Next, go into the 'hiding' space called ChampiCachette and ChampiCachecache. These two pavilions are designed as a complement to ChampiCabanes to realize the imagination of children. Here, they can try a new experience of "seeing invisibly" through the woven ropes that cover the iron structure.

No less interesting than the previous three pavilions, the ChampiCoffre pavilion was designated as a 'toy storage box.' So, it is certain that this pavilion stores all the needs of supporting children's activities, ranging from toys, books, and handicrafts, to outdoor game equipment.

Because it is dedicated to children ChampiCabanes is built with a solid iron structure and lined with woven nets and ropes. This strap was chosen because of its smooth and soft texture so it is safe for children. Meanwhile, these pavilions also use sliding double doors to make it easier for children to open and close. This door is arranged to provide a sense of security for children while playing in the pavilion.
