The Skate House building, located in Rosario, Argentina, integrates the form of a skateboard ramp in the exterior design of the building. This building was specially designed for a client who is a skater and wanted an easily accessible practice area within his home. The main material is dominated by wooden decking which forms the runway curve as well as functions as a canopy. This shape also blocks intense sunlight from entering the house during the summer.

Not only is the design unique, this house is also designed with a 100% sustainable claim. Sustainable, and also skatable. The entire structure of the house is lifted, and uses black steel frame supports that connect the timber envelope with the main area of the house. It is standing on wooden beams which creates a protection from the floods that often occur in this area. The electrical energy of the house is generated by solar panels, while the water comes straight from the river and saved in a storage system when it rains. A solar heater tank is also provided to heat the water for daily use.

The natural brown color of the wood and the deep black color of the iron structure, creating a beautiful contrast, especially when exposed to the LED lights hidden in the roof. The use of these lights also allows clients to use the skateboard ramp when it gets dark. The steel frame structure in the building is deliberately exposed and visible from the inside, revealing as a semicircle wooden sculpture that clad the facade.

The interior of the building is also dominated by wood material which creates a feeling of seamless cohesion between indoor and outdoor spaces. The residence features a living area with a small fireplace and a spacious kitchen, while a light wooden staircase provides occupants to the upper level, where the sleeping area and bathroom are located. Its facade is punctured from a large opening which affords an immersive view of the surrounding landscape.
