Niavaran housing complex, designed by Mohammad Reza Nikbakht, is located in Shemiran, Tehran, Iran. The main priority in designing this complex is to protect several old trees that are over 60 years old, to maintain the quality of the surrounding environment. With the trees and open space, the circulation of natural air flowing in the building can enter perfectly and can lower the temperature around the complex building.
Trees that are deliberately not cut down around the building, slightly-much affect the visual appearance of this apartment so that the structure has a curved shape. In addition, trees are deliberately placed around apartment complex buildings to bring them closer to human life. The selection of materials in buildings that use natural stone gives the impression of a building that blends with nature. This natural stone material can inhibit the heat transfer of sunlight so that the interior of the building becomes cooler. There is a cavity for open space with a curved shape from top to bottom equipped with trees in the middle giving an incredible view of this apartment building.
This apartment building is divided into two main sections consisting of five floors with 30 residential apartments. On the ground floor, there is the main lobby, the building manager's office, a hall, and a meeting room. There is a parking area and storage space in the basement. Going up to the next floor there is a parking lot, a central heating room and there are public facilities such as a swimming pool, spa room, and gym.
