Lucas Gonçalves Arquitetura has always adhered to the principle that his design house should feel comfortable, at the same time, also be practical and functional. To fulfill this desire, of course, the architect cannot forget the role of the client. As reflected in the Summer House, a space for contemplation of nature.
Summer House as a space for contemplation of nature.
The design of this 432-square meter house in the municipality of Franca, São Paulo, actually sees the identity and essence of the client as an important factor in the elaboration of the space. That way, the Summer House can become part of its owner naturally. The sectoral volumetric form also allows this architectural object to enter the site without heeding respect and optimizing every potential. The garden, which is side by side with the infinity edge pool with natural stone, then becomes the orientation of the house's view. Each room will be directed to a garden full of tropical vegetation. This relationship shows that nature can be present in the midst of construction whose roof is made of solid concrete and the walls are exposed brick.

The transparency of the openings on the ground floor of the house promotes the integration of indoor and outdoor spaces.
In addition, the program designed by the architect also emphasizes that the house promotes fluidity and dynamism. Seen from the transparency of the opening on the ground floor that integrates internal and external spaces, fully following the scenario every hour of the day. However, privacy and thermal comfort for the rooms on the upper floor are a priority, so a facade with wooden brises can be opened and closed as needed. But, the heart of this house is actually in the gourmet space - the professional kitchen, which is the center of life or activity. Along with it, the lounge which has a fireplace in it also accommodates more living space for the family. It doesn't stop there, the life built by the Summer House continues up to the upper floor, to the outdoor lounge on the roof deck. From this space overlooking the pool and garden area, residents can enjoy sunset views.

The client's participation in this project will be felt even more when you see the curation of the furniture and decorations. Client and architect try to appreciate the contemporary and timeless pieces of Brazilian artists and designers. For example, a touch of straw, fabrics, and natural fibers further emphasize the aspect of a summer home. The work of these materials also supports the Summer House to become a nature-friendly sanctuary even though it is located in the middle of the city.
