Andyrahman Architect has completed a tiny house for a small family in Surabaya, Indonesia. The name 6X8 House is taken from the size of the site, which is only 6x8 sqm in the middle of a densely populated area in a narrow city alley. This house is designed according to the direction of clients who like the industrial concept with many openings in it, but still closed so that activities in the house are not visible from the street.

Departing from this concept, Andyrahman Architect designed the façade using a breezeblock wall as a "breathing wall" and a polycarbonate fence that makes the house look like it is closed to the road but still "transparent" to the surrounding environment. This ambiguous impression is also brought to the house room design that is arranged and designed interconnected.
The ground floor is a private zone, including the master bedroom, children's bedroom, laundry area, and bathroom. While on the second floor, it is more public, with a living room, kitchen, dining room, and children's playroom that can be converted according to the needs of the house's residents.

With this unique space function, the 6x8 House has two separate stairs in the outside area for guest access and an indoor area for occupant access. In addition, Andyrahman Architect also designed this house to have a split level on the second floor that allows stairs from the first floor to reach the top floor with a shorter distance.

Although occupying a narrow land, Andyrahman Architects can still create an open space in the back area of the house. The arrangement of floor plans that are open and connected to each other also allows air circulation and natural light to flow optimally throughout the room.

The interior of the 6x8 House is tailored to the needs of owners who are more often active in the house. So, this house is equipped with minimally partitioned spaces and flexible furniture to minimize storage space.
The customizable space allows the communal space on the second floor to be converted into a workspace and rest area. In particular, this room is also designed by prioritizing a sense of calm and comfort through a more massive opening arrangement to get around the humid air. In addition, this room is beautified by a simple ceiling, white walls combined with exposed concrete in some parts, and a natural colored floor.
