The building for school pedagogy is built within the San Joaquin Campus complex for the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, adjacent to the Faculty of Education Building. It was built and expanded over the years 1995 and 2006, which has shown the versatility and adaptability of the requested programs. From this project, common space is formed from the existing buildings. These spaces are then dedicated to educational activities on a 45-hectare campus. The location of this project parallel to the campus secondary pathway provides protection and privacy, plus the tree line that covers it.

The initial idea for the project came from the condition of the site and the surrounding buildings. In addition, the density of the campus and the different architectural languages in existing buildings also affect the design of this building. The construction of the building is made simply by the repetition of elements that carry neutrality. This makes this pedagogy building less noticeable for those walking through the campus.

For its structure, this building uses an in situ reinforced concrete structure with a distance of 2.45 meters. These predefined grids also determine the interior program of the building. The perimeter structure is designed from a single element that can turn into a beam or column, depending on whether it is used for. This way, it can reduce construction times and on-site decision-making. On the other hand, this strict geometric order also defines the exterior image of the building.

Access to the building is formed from the volumes released from all non-structural elements. With this, vacancies can be defined as access builders located at the connection of the two axes of campus circulation. For the outdoor area, exterior circulation access is defined by a concave courtyard that connects to the existing faculty building. The interior of the building has a central core that awakens in discontinuous circulation. This creates a circulation system that allows the user to have a perception of the entire room. With this core use, different space programs can be arranged in the room, such as office space, seminar room, and study room. A special area for students is also connected visually and spatially.
