One of the largest and most populous camps has become a temporary home for Rohingya refugees. More than six hundred thousand Rohingya refugees from Myanmar displaced countries are seeking refuge on the Bangladesh border. Rohingya refugees have struggled with vulnerabilities in terms of shelter, health, nutrition, and emotional state for some time. Bangladesh architect Rizvi Hassan worked closely with the United Nations (UN) and other organizations such as BRAC and Unicef in designing and building shelters that are designed ally, socially attractive, and beneficial to all participants as a form of support for Rohingya refugees.

Beyond survival is very close to the habitat of Asian elephants and residents often see elephants coming down from the hill. Hearing this, architect Rizvi Hassan designed this building with a simple shape and avoided anything striking on the outside in anticipation of unwanted attention and could disturb the participants. While bright colors such as yellow, red, blue, and green are applied to interior decoration, the painted bamboo-woven walls and the central courtyard of the building are designed using colorful lime to create a cheerful essence.

"We have heard stories of how women in that community went through brutality and sacrifice to save their families. But seeing men working to help in building a safer space for them is a relief," Rizvi Hassan said.
